What is the role?
The role suits someone who works fast and changes designs with users in the room. Expect to work on a factory floor, a trading room, a hospital ward, or a back office, producing designs, workflow prototypes, and interfaces that ship.
What will you do?
- Work with end users and technical counterparts to learn the workflows the deployment depends on.
- Run rapid prototyping cycles: design and document user flows, wireframes, and interactive prototypes.
- Turn complex technical behavior into interfaces people can use without training, across web, desktop, and command-line (CLI) surfaces.
- Own design for core product surfaces, from concept through shipped UI.
- Design first-run UX, empty states, and activation events that analytics can measure against.
- Map decision rights, escalation rules, and accountability boundaries, and redesign the workflow to match.
- Record workarounds and shadow IT to find where the official process fails.
- Report what you learn in the field to product and technical teams so fixes built for one customer can ship to others.
Who are we looking for?
- Four or more years of product design experience, preferably in developer tools, infrastructure, AI-powered products, or technical B2B
- A portfolio that shows how you framed problems and what shipped
- Fluent in Figma, design systems, and component-driven workflows
- Visual and interaction design craft
- Ability to work with engineers within technical constraints
- Comfort reading code and working in production environments
- Experience using AI tools to translate designs into working front-end code
- Ability to explain design decisions clearly to executive stakeholders
- Writes clear, concise documentation for technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to build rapport quickly and represent teams professionally with clients
- Comfort working under ambiguity with high autonomy
What else helps?
